I could be mistaken but I believe that in the original game, you can use up all of the Silver Bow's charges and it will still be usable as a weapon until you return to town to recharge it. In MedievaLands, I used its last charge in battle and suddenly had no weapon equipped, making the rest of the battle a slow slog. I am also stuck with a short bow now since I don't think I can get back the silver bow *OR* the crossbow from past quest rewards

I'm not sure whether this is a bug or the intended functionality.
