Reginald's Gear Ideas/Requests - Ongoing Thread

Reginald

Greetings everyone; with Zane mentioning that the inventory/gear threshold has been extended, I felt like it would be a good time to start writing down some basic ideas for items/equipment that could potentially be used in-game. Both Yserbius and Twinion were notoriously restrictive with the gear they had available, so now that we're in a new era of ideas and expansion, I feel like it's time to add to the mix. What I'd like to first do is propose a few materials to determine quality and make of equipment; see the post below:

Reginald

Metals: The essential backbone to most weapons and armor, metals serve as the mainstay of most adventurers when it comes to their reliability in combat and in protecting those who wear them as armor or wield them as weapons or shields. Below are some of the metals I propose to make up weapons and armor.

Reginald

- Copper: The lowliest of Metals; mostly used for utensils and simple gear, Copper can server as a thrifty option for the budding adventurer; allowing them to stay alive until they can purchase more serviceable equipment.

(Base Qualities: +3 Dexterity for Weapons, +1 Armor for Armor and Shields.)

- Iron: The reliable backbone of metallic equipment; more durable than Copper, and the material of choice for experienced adventurers. Iron makes good weaponry and armor, and is used in the crafting of stalwart shields.

(Base Qualities: +5 Dexterity and +1 Strength for Weapons, +5 Armor and +1 Defense for Armor and Shields)

(Note: For Copper, the above post had an error, it's +1 Armor for Armor and Shields.)

Steel: Building upon Iron's durability is the onset of Steel, a higher-quality metal that is more lightweight, but more dense and durable. Steel makes for excellent weaponry, and can even be used to craft stronger, more flexible armor.

(Base Qualities: +15 Dexterity and +1 Strength for Weapons, +7 Armor and +2 Defense for Armor and Shields.)

- Tempered Steel: Further reinforcing the basics of Iron, and its later iteration of Steel, Tempered Steel is the strongest form of the same metal, just edging up slightly higher than Steel alone. While it is not as drastic of a difference like Iron is to Steel, its slight edge over its predecessor gives it a loyal following behind veteran adventurers, who seek to sharpen their blades and harden their armor.

(Base Qualities: +25 Dexterity and +2 Strength for Weapons, +10 Armor and +2 Defense for Armor and Shields.)

Cloth/Leather: Moving into the territory of fabrics, Cloths and Leathers provide those whom require a lighter fare of equipment an option. While they are not as durable as their Metal counterparts, Cloth and leather provide an alternative that allow their wearers to be more nimble, permitting them a chance at evading oncoming spells. Below is a list of some of the Cloths/Leather I propose for use in equipment pieces:

- Hemp: Mostly woven from plants and straw, hempen apparel can be slightly uncomfortable, but it provides at least a limited form of protection above just one's own skin. Hemp is usually the economical choice for an aspiring adventurer, if they're not capable of wearing metallic equipment.

(Base Qualities: +1 Agility for Armor)

Reginald

- Wool: Woven from the hairs of sheep and alpacas, Wool makes for a thick, sturdy material that actually does provide some physical protection in addition to its lightweight properties. Wool can be a little itchy, but it makes for a comfortable covering in colder climates.

(Base Qualities: +3 Armor, +1 Agility for Armor)

Reginald

- Cotton: Another plant-based fabric, though much more durable and comfortable, Cotton makes for the first in a line of comfortable clothing, usually made for standard attire that promotes movement and freedom. Cotton makes for a reliable material for virtually any outfit, rarely itches, and can easily be dyed to a wearer's preferred colors.

(Base Qualities: +5 Armor, +2 Agility for Armor.)
