Grobrak | Mar 9, 2020 | Is he supposed to be so strong? I've tried the basalt scroll approach to this fight, but usually he just gets a devastating blow that one-shots me if the spell is resisted, haha. Seems a little silly to fight him in a gimmicky way that isn't very reliable... |
Reginald | Mar 9, 2020 | Are you talking about Aqueus? It's been a while since I fought him. Last I had to, I had to be of decent level and had to turtle up with the Shield spell. Might have to take that approach. |
Grobrak | Mar 9, 2020 | I just took him out, thankfully he doesn't have much health! But I had to use the basalt scroll in the end. I'm not sure where to go now, though... |
Aqua-Duck | Mar 10, 2020 | get the red koc pic and gi throuygh the north gate in the queens area |
Grobrak | Mar 10, 2020 | Thanks Aqua-Duck, I'll try that! |
Silver | Mar 12, 2020 | The old game used to make Petrify and other status effects stick when they were cast, if they succeeded. I filed an issue on the tracker and ZaneDubya acknowledged that things were different now, and hopefuly, we'll get some useful information added to the game so that we know when to hit Aqueus with another Petrify to stop him from getting that one-shot hit in. The Red Lockpick will help you get to other parts of the Aqueduct, it's true. |
Grobrak | Mar 12, 2020 | Unfortunately I'm still stuck, haha. I can't explore the eastern part of the Aqueduct and there's exactly one room (on the bottom left) in the Reservoir that I can't reach... |
ZaneDubya | Mar 12, 2020 | Silver! Welcome! I appreciated your thoughtful posts in the github repository. |
Silver | Mar 15, 2020 | Thanks, ZaneDubya! And thank you for being patient with me as I expressed my annoyance at how the game is balanced against a single player. Grobrak: I got lucky, perhaps, but in the same way that Aqueus is vulnerable to Petrify, he was, at least for me, vulnerable to Control as well, and that stuck long enough for the deed to be done. Perhaps at some point, we can venture together against Aqueus and obtain victory? That singe room in the Reservoir is a mystery to me, as well. I don't remember if it has later significance or whether it's just there to annoy us. |
Grobrak | Mar 15, 2020 | Thanks for the offer Silver, although as I mentioned in a post above, Aqueus is defeated. I just don't know where to go from here. The door in the aqueduct still tells me to return after I've done what I need to do elsewhere, and the big obnoxiously loud pit in the reservoir just throws me into a wall, losing half my health. Not sure where to go from here. |
