Ok this will be the fourth try to get the scepter. Other than getting a few more levels which will eventually occur with each attempt any suggestions. This character is a level now 16 human ranger the last battle with the

wyverns to get the scepter is frustrating. You lose the key when you enter the battle so now you have to go back and get the key. I haven't tried leaving the battle to see if I could get a better battle than one with 6 Wyverns because I think that once you enter battle you lose the key so I doubt it would let you leave. Will try that.

I did try to get a couple of Morning Stars on the map that would allow you to cast fireball on the creatures, unfortunately that would allow me to kill one group but with two other groups living through the battle, I doubt I would make it.

I do have death darts level 10 but my mana won't let me get level 12. Is there a magic item that will increase your mana so you could increase your mana?

A third option is just wait until the character is more powerful. Unfortunately you can't buy soveriegn scrolls. Any suggestion?

Found an item called "Boris Amulet" which gives a +125 mana...I wonder if that would allow me to cast level 12 death darts if my max mana is only 120 at level 16.

GOT IT!!!!!!! While on the Rune Room I got 3 malice morningstars. Fight the battle to get one Morningstar, teleport out leave one in the vault go back fight the battle.. teleport out drop one in the vault,,,go back fight the battle get another one and teleport out withdraw the two from the vault now have 3 in inventory and go on to fight battles for the scepter, but two blast scroll...Now to mausoleum

ok, I have the robe, crown and scepter...have been all over the mausoleum and it won't take the robe...do I have to return to rune room and collect them all again???

Very generic in my upcoming comments. If you want full details, there is a walkthrough on the site. Once you have all 3, you need to take the 2 shorter paths in the masoleum. Left inner until you drop off one of the items, then right inner until you drop off the 2nd, and then continue on until the top middle. There is a corridor in the middle where you drop off the last and have a fight.

If you die at all after dropping off any of the items, you will have to go back and re-claim them.

Great news, I did the king's quest again at level 17, a lot easier. Had to go back to the rune room to get all the items, robe, crown, and scepter. Then with items in tow to mausoleum. Read somewhere you can't teleport out no matter what so had to throw away the King's lockpick to free up spaces. Anyways remembered what one npc said about going east but not too far east to enter the first way north the a little futher east to return the next item then after that was returned used true seeing to see the door. Then last item and move forward[North] and fight battle with the Lich and Ghost or was it Ghouls, defeated them and I am only 500 exp from level17. move north and now I am 18 and only 500 exp from 19. :-) Thank you all for help.
