Patch notes for February 26, 2020

Hail Friends! We are nine days away from a public test period for Twinion. In the meantime, I've been working steadily on some real improvements to Yserbius. Here are the patch notes for the past two weeks:

The Tavern:

* The Tavern chat room is now in "high resolution" (roughly 150 more pixels than the resolution of the original game, which ran at 320x200). The end result is that the tavern chat interface can now fit more than double the text in the original.

* In addition to the high resolution improvement, chat in the tavern has been improved with new MUD-like text styling. You can further customize how your chat appears with the /mood command. Try it out!

* The player list in the tavern also fits more players, and you can now see if a player is in Yserbius, Twinion, or has gone AFK.

Bulletin Boards:

* The bulletin boards are now in the same high resolution mode.

* The reply functionality has been changed so you can now reply while reading a thread.

Guilds:

* The guilds interface in the tavern has also been improved with the new high resolution mode.

* You can now see all the inactive guilds. I'm sure we'll be hearing from most of them again, but for now, they remain memorialized in MedievaLands.

Items:

* This is the big one...

* The server's item framework has been 100 percent rewritten. A week ago, the server could only create items from the original Yserbius and Twinion games. Now it can create any item, with any properties you can imagine. This is the most exciting thing that has happened to Yserbius since MedievaLands went live!

* While there are no custom items in the game yet, there are hushed tales of strange items being discovered in the dungeons. Soon, players may stumble upon them...

* The item ui has been reworked so it shows as a single window with 20 spots for items, instead of two separate windows with ten frames each.

* The loot window now appears alongside (actually, on top of) the inventory window, so you'll be able to shuffle your inventory to fit your new loot items as necessary.

* Now when you find items in the dungeon, they'll pop up as a loot window, so you'll never miss out on a dungeon item because your inventory was full.

* I admit that the new loot window is a little too big - it hides the dungeon's text box, which is a shame. But it will look much nicer when the dungeon's interface is high ressed. Look for this soon!

Reginald
