New Skills: Stances and Bulwark

Currently, there are weapon mastery skills for each type of weapon, such as Staff, Fencing and Archery. There's even a couple skills to reduce incoming damage such as Athletics. But there are no skills for shield-bearers. Granted, right now everyone is a shield-bearer as there is nothing stopping us from doing so, however, it would make sense for certain classes (such as the Knight) to be trained in the ability to deflect blows with his shield, which is why I'm calling it Bulwark.

Bulwark will passively improve the characters Defense and Armor values while a shield is equipped.

Armor +1 / Skill level

Defense +3 / 2 skill levels

Also, currently the games have a few buff based skills, such as Leadership. What if we had skills similar to that, but only affect the caster (with a permanent duration for the fight or until used again) that changes your character's combat stats?

Defensive Stance: Armor +0.5, Defense +2, Strength -1 / Skill level

Aggressive Stance: Armor -0.5, Defense -1, Strength +2 / Skill level

Casting Stance: Defense -1, Strength -1, Mana cost -4 percent / Skill level

(This means that Armor would increase/decrease every second skill level)

So at max ranks:

Defensive Stance: Armor +6, Defense +24, Strength -12

Aggressive Stance: Armor -6, Defense -12, Strength +24

Casting Stance: Defense -12, Strength -12, Mana cost -40 percent

I think it would add some flavor, especially if spellpower scaling is introduced along with stronger stat differences between races/classes. An aggressive stance Troll Wizard could make for a fierce battlemage!

Thanks for reading!

P.S.

This would be even more interesting if added as a feature for the monsters.

The Black Panther looks more aggressive! -Aggressive Stance

3 Young Thieves ready themselves for incoming blows! -Defensive Stance

Grobrak enters a focused state! -Casting Stance

I'm definitely interested in the idea of new skills, though I'm not yet sure how, or if new skills/spells are possible...I'd like to hear Zane chime in on this one; I'm not sure if or how this would work. Formula-wise it seems rather sound, but actually coding it, is it something the game can expand to?

It might be viable to replace some old less useful skills to make place for new ones, if nothing else. I'm not sure...
