Greetings, how do I reacticate my old guild Masters of Yserbius (MoY)?

Hail Tamasan!

I see that no member of that guild has been on in some time.

I do think that it would be valid to allow new players to assume ownership of a completely inactive guild.

I would also like to be mindful of protecting the existing owners, even if they haven't been online in a long time.

I'll have to spend some thinking time about what the appropriate trade offs would be. If you have any thoughts to add, please let me know!

Tamasan

I am one of the original founders of MoY and would like to reactivate MoY or start a new guild name Masters of Yserbius (MoY). Since a just recently found out about the rebirth of Shadow of Yserbius and found a couple of original members to play. We would like to play as MoY.

Hey Tamasan - understood. Here are a two ideas:

First, you can always start a guild with the three character abbreviation "MY2". That would be allowed given the current state of the code.

Second, I will be exploring new code that would allow an account to re-establish a guild. This feature would allow someone to take a guild where no members have been online in a long time and re-activate it. The feature would be subject to some limitations to limit abuse of this feature. I am considering what limitations would be appropriate. I welcome you to weigh in on what you would consider to be appropriate protections for existing members.

I expect I will be working on this new feature all this week and will be ready to deploy it either this coming weekend or the weekend after that.
