Is petrify classified as a debilitating state?

If it is, I dont understand why i am at the mercy of cockatrices. I have a medallion that protects against petrify, as well as resist cast on my party members but im still easily petrified until death.

Is there a spell that offers better protection? What other defences are available to protect myself from being turned to stone?

Hey there Neph;

Cockatrices are nasty creatures; they hit quite hard, and their Petrification effects can really ruin anyone's day; you'll want to start investing in Agility, it helps not only for dodging spells nastier effects, but also helps avoid status effects.
